Patient Information
A successful procedure starts before you arrive.
Following your preparation instructions carefully is one of the most important things you can do for a safe and effective examination.
Your specific instructions will depend on the procedure you’re having, your medical history and your physician’s recommendations.
Before your procedure, make sure you understand:
What can I eat?
Your physician will provide instructions about when to begin changing your diet and when you must stop eating.
What can I drink?
You’ll receive specific instructions about when to stop drinking liquids.
What medications should I take
Some medications, including certain blood thinners, diabetes medications, iron supplements and other medicines, may require special instructions. Never stop or change a medication unless your physician or care team tells you to.
Do I need someone to drive me home?
If you receive sedation or anesthesia, you will need a responsible adult to drive you home and follow your discharge instructions.
What should I bring?
